Since 2007, this high energy, community event has become a recurrent crowd pleaser and visual way to raise awareness of the work of H.O.P.E. Each year, the students of UTA Karate Shrewsbury & Delta collect sponsorships to break boards using their martial arts skills. Their fundraising efforts increase each year and have raised more than $15,000 to benefit local cancer patients and their families. Brown’s Orchards & Farm Markets generously provides the venue and donates a portion of the day’s sales to H.O.P.E.
For the karate school, this popular event has helped teach the students (some as young as 3 years old) the importance of working as a team to give back to the community. For H.O.P.E. it is an honor to be the recipient of such dedication and hard work.
